What is the Blacksmith Energy Storage Project?
The Blacksmith Energy Storage Project is a 200-Megawatt (MW)/ 800 Megawatt-hour (MWh) lithium-ion battery energy storage system (BESS). The project will use lithium-ion batteries to support the healthy operation of the electrical grid by safely storing excess energy from the grid when not in use and then discharging this stored energy back to the grid when the community needs it.

Where is the Blacksmith Energy Storage Project?
The Project will compromise approximately 34 acres of land located in the Franklin area of unincorporated Sacramento County.
